Horsehair pottery is made by using hair from the tail and mane of a horse. The hair burns off and leaves these intricate patterns. Each piece is absolutely one of a kind. It's a tedious method, only two or three pots can be fired at a time, but the results are magnificent!

Vapor glazed pots are coated with over 25 thin coats of glaze, then fired in an electric kiln. As the kiln cools down metallic chlorides and nitrates are introduced. The chemicals vaporize and the swirling fumes coat the pots with iridescent colors, similar to the production of iridescent glass.
